Bombardier to sell Q Series, cut 5,000 jobs

Canada’s largest aerospace manufacturer will also sell flight training unit amid restructuring effort as free cash flow situation draws investor concerns

Bombardier Inc said on Thursday it would sell two businesses for around $900 million and cut 5,000 jobs and as it expands its stronger corporate jet and rail divisions, but the company's shares fell as much as 26 percent on a disappointing free cash flow forecast.

Bombardier Inc is set to announce the sale of its Q400 turboprop aircraft program to Canadian aircraft manufacturer Viking Air, a person familiar with the matter said late on Wednesday.
